African-American stuntwoman dies on the set of ‘Deadpool 2’ movie in Canada, media reports.
Pioneering black motorcycle racer Joi Harris was killed immediately while executing a stunt on the set of the film in Vancouver, Canada.
Some witnesses were quoted by the media as saying that the stunt driver may not have applied her brakes before the crash.
‘Vancouver Police can confirm that a female stunt driver has died on the set of ‘Deadpool 2’ during a stunt on a motorcycle,’ police said in a statement.
Due to a short notice, Harris was not able to get a customized helmet for the scene, a report said, adding 'Deadpool 2' star Ryan Reynolds and director David Leitch led a moment of silence on the film’s set Wednesday to honor the female stunt performer.
